Celebrating the Eucharist

Many of our second-graders recently made their First Communions in their home parishes, and this week they had the chance to receive Communion together. At Monday morning's Mass, the second-graders not only received Communion together, they also proclaimed God's word from the altar, led the Prayer of the Faithful, and served as the choir, delighting the crowd with spirited versions of "Immaculate Mary" and "Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above." At the conclusion of the Mass, they crowned a statue of Mary in a traditional May Crowning ceremony.

Many thanks to our second-grade teachers, Anne Casola and Mary Meliski, for guiding them through this special time of life and for preparing them for this Mass. They shined so brightly!
